NACWA Gold Peak Performance Award

For 50 years, the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) has represented public wastewater and stormwater agencies of all sizes nationwide. The Association’s unique and growing network strengthens the advocacy voice for all member utilities, and ensures they have the tools necessary to provide affordable and sustainable clean water for all.

In recognition of our complete and consistent National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit compliance – reporting no violations for calendar year 2025 – SESD received the NACWA Gold Peak Performance Award. The Peak Performance Awards recognize Member Agency facilities for excellence in wastewater treatment as measured by compliance with their NPDES permit. This award program offers national recognition for the hard work and commitment to excellence NACWA members put forth everyday on behalf of the environment and their communities.

As a recipient of this incredible achievement award, SESD works continuously, 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, to ensure the water we discharge to the Salem Sound meets or exceeds our permit, keeping the economy and health of our communities safe, utilizing wastewater treatment for a cleaner environment.
