Although our facility sits behind a fence, SESD regularly hosts talks and plant tours for local schools, community organizations, and wastewater professionals interested in learning more about what we do.
In order to further our mission of water quality stewardship, SESD hopes to raise awareness about wastewater management by helping people better understand the process and their role in maintaining pipes, equipment, and treatment facilities.
Explore our facility through a tour, request an educational seminar, or learn more!
Residents and businesses in Beverly, Danvers, Marblehead, Peabody, and Salem are all encouraged to attend our semiannual Public Tours to learn more about what we do, why it matters, and how you can help.
These general public tours are typically held in the early Fall and Spring each year, around September and May, and consist of a 45-minute seated presentation in our Board Room by our Executive Director about what you’ll see around the facility, capped with a 45-minute walking tour above – and below – ground.
If you, your friends, family, or coworkers want to attend, simply fill out our form to get started. We can put you on our Wait List and you’ll be the first to know when our next tour is scheduled!
Part of a larger group? Let us know – we may be able to schedule a tour for your organization to accommodate your team.
